Our Sunday services are a time when we come together to praise and worship our real and living God, and listen to His word. Our worship is active and varied, with a mix of energetic singing, contemplative worship and open prayer.
When you visit us on a Sunday, someone on our welcome team will ask for your contact details, of course, you can say 'no thanks' but we would love to be able to follow up with you during the week to see how you found your time with us, and if there is anything that we can pray for you and support you in.
Our Sunday Morning service starts at 11am at the Link Youth Centre in Orpington with refeshments beforehand. The service lasts about 90 mins in total.
We start with a time of praise and worship, after which the children go out to Sunday groups while the rest remain to listen to God's word.
We are blessed to have some gifted preachers , and have regular visiting speakers from other churches within our network.
Please see our Audio page to listen to previous sermons.
If you have children between the ages of 18 months and 12 years old here's what you can expect from our childrens activities:
On your first visit to River Church a member of the children's team will introduce themselves to you, and take you to meet the leader of your child's group (based on their age) and show you where the group have their activities.
As the time of praise and worship comes to an end in the main service, the meeting leader will announce that the children can go to their groups.
Parents are welcome to go with their children to help settle them in their group, parents can also stay with them if they want or can return to the main meeting.
If you have any questions about what your child/children will be doing during the morning, feel free to ask before the service as we would love to share what's planned and help put you at ease.
All of our chidren's team have been DBS checked and all groups have the correct adult:child ratio.
We run a weekly group on Saturday nights for young people and adults, with different activities, trips and general fun. The group also regularly attends joint youth events with other churches in our network, which are open to year 8s and above.
